Yoga for Kids - Through meaningful, mindful, and active play, this class introduces yoga, the ancient practice of self-study and transformation, to children. Darlene's approach is rooted in child development and in the many ways in which children learn.
In the setting of an imaginary garden, children move and explore their bodies: their branches sway in the breeze (tree posture), their tails wag in delight (downward facing dog posture) and their bright wings flutter (butterfly posture); their breath: buzzing like a bee; and their minds through guided visualizations.
This is a general wellbeing practice that offers children techniques to cultivate energy as well as manage stress.
Appropriate for children ages 4-11. It is recommended that parents practice with children under age eight.
